Two members of Sam’s Carpet Cleaning team in the workshop

Hi, we’re Sam and Andre.

We’re the owners of Sam’s Carpet Cleaning, and we’ve been helping Calgary residents care for their carpets since 2020. We provide residential and commercial carpet cleaning. We’ve both received professional training, and so has every member of our team.

We’re a local, owner-managed business. We stay involved in the day-to-day work, respond quickly and keep communication simple. We use excellent equipment and proven cleaning methods to clean your carpets to the highest standards, while keeping our prices highly competitive.

Our core values

Professionalism and responsibility are our lifeline.

We only provide high-quality carpet cleaning.

You have plenty of choices for carpet cleaning here in Calgary. We know that. What matters to us is being a team you can trust to do the job properly and take responsibility for our work.

We don’t see your cleaning as a one-off job. We want to earn your trust—and your kind words—by showing up with the right equipment, following a thoughtful process and doing honest, reliable work.

Protecting your property

We look after your home, not just your carpets.

You’re trusting us to work in your home, and we take that seriously. Looking after your property is part of the job, not an extra.

Some of the equipment we bring inside weighs up to 50 lb. Before moving it through your home, we put corner guards, floor coverings and protective mats in place to look after exposed corners and non-carpeted floors. We take the same care when running our hoses.

Our cleaning method

Hot water steam cleaning.

This method is traditionally known as Hot Water Extraction. We use powerful equipment and a process we’ve carefully developed to get deeper into your carpet.

We use hot water extraction, often called HWE or steam cleaning. First, the cleaning solution helps loosen dirt in the carpet. Then a controlled hot-water rinse flushes the fibres, and strong suction pulls the loosened dirt and moisture back out.

Here’s what that helps us lift out:

  • Embedded dirt and grime
  • Allergen-bearing debris and some bacteria carried with the removed soil
  • Residue from old spills
  • Pet dander and oils
  • Dust mite debris

Our Facility & Equipment

Our equipment has a home of its own: our dedicated warehouse. It gives us room to store our truck-mounted systems and tools, keep everything organized, and check and maintain it properly before heading to your home.

Choosing advanced equipment is the right move in any industry. The right equipment and a complete cleaning process need to work together. We’re happy to invest in both, because taking good care of your carpets matters to us.

Professional tools

Our truckmounts do the heavy lifting, but the cleaning tools are what actually work directly on your carpet. The tools we connect to our systems deliver the heated cleaning solution and recover the dirty water. And it’s not just about the wand—every tool in our kit has an important job to do. We choose high-quality tools suited to each task, so we can clean effectively while treating your carpet fibres with care.

We bring soft water—no garden hose needed.

Before heading out each day, we fill the water tanks in our vans with softened water at our warehouse. We bring it with us, so there’s no need to hook up to your garden hose.

1. Helping our cleaning solutions do their job

Hard water contains calcium and magnesium, which can interfere with some cleaning ingredients. Softening the water reduces that interference, helping our cleaning solutions and surfactants work more efficiently. With the same cleaning products, softened water generally gives us better conditions to work in.

2. A thorough rinse, with less mineral residue

We want to rinse your carpet without adding unnecessary minerals along the way. Softened water contains less calcium and magnesium, so it brings less of that mineral residue into your carpet during cleaning.

3. Looking after the equipment that looks after your carpets

Heating hard water day after day can cause scale to build up in a truckmount’s heat exchangers, lines and spray jets. Softened water helps reduce that risk, keeping water flowing properly and helping our jets and heating systems work efficiently. Looking after our equipment helps us deliver consistent cleaning results.

4. Keeping our cleaning process consistent

For us, softened water isn’t a stand-alone trick—it’s part of a complete cleaning system. It helps our cleaning solutions work efficiently while reducing mineral buildup in our equipment and mineral deposits during cleaning. It’s one more detail we take care of before we arrive at your home.

Why do we keep investing in better equipment?

Homes change, and so does what people need from a cleaning service. Better equipment helps us control the heat, rinse more thoroughly and recover more moisture. That last part matters: we want to clean your carpet well without leaving unnecessary water behind, because drying time is part of the result.

Carefully selected cleaning solutions

The right clean.
The right products for your home.

Your family and pets are part of the picture, too. We choose products with a strong safety profile when used as directed, and we make sure we understand them before they go anywhere near your carpet.

No two homes are quite the same. Before we start, we look at your carpet and talk through your concerns. Then we choose the right product and dilution for the job. We’re aiming for a thorough clean with low residue, while keeping safety front and centre.

We look for environmentally considerate products suitable for homes with children and pets when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. We’ll also let you know about drying time and when it’s appropriate to use the cleaned area again.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to vacuum before the cleaning team arrives?

No. Vacuuming is part of Sam’s Carpet Cleaning’s service and is included in your quote—there’s no extra charge.

How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?

Most homes benefit from professional carpet cleaning every 12 to 18 months. Homes with children, pets, allergies, or heavy foot traffic may need service more often.

How long will my carpet take to dry?

Most carpets dry within 6 to 8 hours after cleaning. Opening windows or using fans can help speed up the drying process.

Do you move furniture?

We move small, lightweight furniture, such as chairs and small sofas, as part of our service. For safety reasons, we do not move large, heavy, or fragile furniture, including beds, dressers, entertainment units, pianos, or appliances.

Can you help with pet odours and stains?

Every pet stain and urine issue is unique, and the appropriate treatment depends on its severity. We will ask a few questions over the phone to get a general understanding of the situation. Upon arrival, we'll perform an on-site inspection and review the recommended treatment and pricing with you before starting any work.

Can carpet cleaning completely remove pet urine?
